Bacon
Stick Dogs
Wrap a hot dog with bacon and a refrigerated
breadstick. Bake and serve a “Stick Dog”
for a quick lunch or snack. Hot dogs are traditionally made from beef,
pork or a combination of those meats. Unlike many other sausages (which may be
sold cooked or uncooked), hot dogs are always cooked before being offered
commercially. Hot dogs may be safely
eaten without further cooking though they are usually warmed up before serving.
Leave the kitchen very clean.
Recipe:
1 11-ounce package refrigerated original breadsticks
8 bun-length hot dogs
8 thin wooden sticks
8 slices Ready to Serve
bacon
2 tablespoons melted butter
Grated Parmesan cheese
Preheat oven to 375-degrees.
Coat a baking sheet with a spray of canola oil. Unroll dough and separate breadsticks. Insert wood sticks lengthwise into hot dogs,
leaving 2-inches of each stick exposed.
Wrap bacon slice in spiral fashion around hot dog and then wrap
refrigerated breadstick over bacon. Secure
with a toothpick. Brush butter over breadsticks. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake about 18-20 minutes or until bread
sticks are golden brown.
Yield: 8 servings.
