Baked Apple Slices

 

Farmer’s Market

 

4   Granny Smith apples (3 ½ cups)

¾  cup granulated sugar

2   teaspoons ground cinnamon

½  teaspoon ground nutmeg

½  teaspoon ground ginger

½  cup apple cider

½  cup butter

½  cup chopped pecans

½  cup raisins

     Vanilla ice cream

 

Preheat oven to 350-degrees.  Peel, core and slice apples.  Place apples in a 9 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan coated with cooking spray.  In a small bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger.  Stir in apple cider and pour over apples.  Dot with bits of butters.  Sprinkle with nuts and raisins.  Bake uncovered for 45 minutes or until apples are tender.  Serve warm with ice cream. 

Yield:  6 servings.
