Buttered Carrots/Dill

The Recipe Ladies Family Herb Garden

 

1   pound carrots

¾  cup water

3   tablespoons butter

1   tablespoon granulated sugar

½  teaspoon salt

½  teaspoon fresh ground pepper

1   teaspoon dill seed*

 

Peel and slice carrots into 1-inch pieces.  In a saucepan, combine carrots, water, butter, sugar, salt, pepper, and dill seed.  Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat, and simmer for about 20 minutes or until carrots are tender and most of the liquid is absorbed. 

Yield:  6 servings.
