Chocolate Spritz Cookies
1 ½
cups butter
1 cup
granulated sugar
3 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
¼ cup cocoa
powder
1 teaspoon
baking powder
1 teaspoon
vanilla
2 medium eggs
Cream together the butter and the sugar. Sift together the cocoa powder, flour and
baking powder. Add 1 cup flour mixture,
egg and vanilla to creamed mixture. Beat
in remaining flour mixture.
Force unchilled dough
through a cookie press onto an ungreased cookie
sheet. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes of till
edges are firm, but not brown. Cool
cookies on a wire rack. Frost or
sprinkle with chopped nuts and/or colored sugar.
Yield: 5 dozen
cookies.
