Dog in a Bun

 

Animal Crackers

 

Preschoolers develop cognitive, motor and social skills through creative cooking experiences!

 

NUTRITION!

Protein (hot dog) builds and renews body tissues and supplies energy.

Carbohydrates (bun) give work energy for body activities and heat energy for maintenance

of body temperature

 

SUPPLIES!

Hot dog, cooked and cut in half

Hot dog bun, cut in half

˝ slice American cheese, cut into straws

Mustard, ketchup, relish

 

MATERIALS!

1   teaspoon measure

1   plastic knife

3   small serving bowls

3   plastic spoons

1   small paper plate

 

 

RECIPE – 1 SERVING!

1/2   hot dog

1/2   hot dog bun

1     cheese straw

       Mustard, ketchup, relish

 

DIRECTIONS!

1.  Cut down center of hot dog but not all the way through.  Insert cheese straw. 

2.  Place dog in hot dog bun

3.  Spoon over mustard, ketchup and/or relish

4.  Eat and Enjoy!

 

CAROLYN’S COOKING RULES!

Wash hands with soap and water before cooking,

Wear an apron or smock to protect clothes. 

Listen carefully to directions. 

Use good table manners. 

Assist with clean up.
