English Muffin Pizza
Any time is pizza
time! English muffins are tea breads. They are unsweetened and
yeast-raised. Usually the muffins are cut and allowed to rise on a
surface dusted with cornmeal and then baked on a griddle. The wandering
“Muffin man,” who sold fresh muffins was a familiar figure on the streets of
all English towns. Try this delicious quick and easy pizza snack!
Preparation
time: About 15 minutes.
Equipment you’ll
need: Can opener, liquid measuring cup, nested (solid) measuring cup,
measuring spoons, table knife, turner and baking
sheet.
Safety: Carefully use a table knife to completely
split English muffins. After opening can discard lid in
trash immediately. Use dry potholders to put baking sheet into
oven and to remove. Use a turner to place hot pizzas on serving
plates.

English muffins, split in half

8-ounce can tomato sauce
1
tablespoon Italian seasoning
1
teaspoon granulated sugar
32 slices pepperoni
4 ounces shredded Mozzarella cheese
1.
Preheat oven to 375-degrees.
2. Split
English muffins and arrange on baking sheet.
3. Open can
of tomato sauce and pour into small bowl.
4. Add
seasoning and sugar. Mix well!
5. Spoon 1
tablespoon seasoned tomato sauce on each muffin half.
6. Place 4
pepperoni slices on each muffin half.
7. Place 1
tablespoon of Mozzarella cheese on top of each half.
8. Place
baking sheet in oven and bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
Yield: 8 servings.
Clean up: Always keep sink filled with hot soapy water
to make clean up easier. Leave the kitchen spotless!
