Preschoolers develop cognitive, motor and social skills through creative cooking experiences!

 

NUTRITION!

Incomplete protein (peanut butter) with the combination of other incomplete proteins builds and renews body tissues and supplies energy. 

Vitamin C (celery) maintains a sound condition of teeth and gums.  It also increases resistance to infection. 

 

SUPPLIES!

Peanut butter

Celery

Golden Raisins

 

MATERIALS!

1  plastic knife

1  small paper plate

1  tablespoon measure

 

RECIPE!

1  3-inch piece  celery stalk

1  tablespoon peanut butter

5  raisins

 

DIRECTIONS!

1.  Measure peanut butter. 

2.  Stuff celery.

3.  Place on raisins

4.  Eat and Enjoy!

 

CAROLYN’S COOKING RULES!

Wash hands with soap and water before cooking.

Wear an apron or smock to protect your clothes. 

Listen carefully to directions.

Use good table manners.

Assist with clean up.

 

CHECK FOR KNOWLEDGE!

How many raisins did you place on your celery branch?

Name some other fillings you could stuff your celery branch with. 

 

EXTENSIONS!

Provide cream cheese, cheese whiz or pimento spread to stuff celery.

Provide granola, small bits of dried fruit or crushed cereal to sprinkle over celery.
