2 pounds ground
round or sirloin
1 packet dry
onion soup mix
2 medium eggs,
slightly beaten
8 slices
American cheese
8 hamburger buns
Salt and
fresh ground pepper to taste
Condiments
and dressings
Preheat outdoor grill for
medium high heat. Lightly oil
grate! Combine beef, soup mix and eggs
in a large bowl. (You can add just about any anything to the meat before
cooking except salt. Salt extracts
moisture.) Divide seasoned patties into
8 equal balls. Flatten each ball into a thick patty. Press a large shallow dent into the center of
each patty using a wooden spoon. The dent
in the center helps the patty keep its shape.
Grill patties for 10 to 20 minutes or until desired
doneness, Remove from heat! Salt and
pepper to taste and place slice of cheese on.
Serve on buns with condiments and dressings.
Yield: 8 servings.
