Hamburger Casserole - Rudy W. Engel

1      pound ground chuck

3      medium potatoes, peeled, sliced 1/8-inch thick

1/2   cup chopped onions

1/4   cup chopped celery

1/3   cup green pepper, finely chopped

1      10-ounce can cream of mushrooms soup

 

Crisco grease a 2-quart casserole dish with lid.  Put 1/3 of hamburger in casserole dish, place 1/3 potatoes on top of meat and spread on 1/3 can soup.  Sprinkle with half the onions, celery and pepper.  Repeat! On the third layer spread meat, potatoes and soup.  Cover and bake in a 350-degree oven for 1 ˝ to 2 hours. 

Yield:  4 servings.
