Hot Wing Drummies

 

Holiday/Special Occasions

 

1     3-pound bag frozen drummies (about 20), thawed

 

Dredge

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1     teaspoon garlic powder

1     teaspoon fresh ground pepper (or cayenne)

1     teaspoon dry mustard

1     teaspoon paprika

 

3   tablespoons cooking oil

 

Sauce

2   12-ounce jars hot salsa

½  cup honey

     Hot sauce to taste

 

Wash drummies under cold running water.  Pat dry with paper towels. Place flour, salt, pepper, mustard and paprika in a paper bag and shake to mix.  Add a few drummies and shake, shake, shake!  Preheat oil over medium-high heat.    Place 10 drummies in a skillet and brown on all sides, about 5 minutes.  Repeat!  Add all drummies to a large pot.  Pour sauce over.  Cover and simmer until drummies are well done. 

Yield:  10 servings.
