Kielbasa

Sausage “coins” and apple
slices are cooked in apple juice and glazed with apple jelly and maple
syrup. Kielbasa is a seasoned, smoked
sausage. It is usually sold precooked
and made from beef, pork and/or turkey.
Smoked sausage can be substituted.
Ask an adult to drain the apple juice.
Always clean as you cook.
Recipe:
1 pound fully cooked Kielbasa sausage

cup apple juice
1/2 cup apple jelly
2 tablespoons maple syrup
Using kitchen scissors, cut
sausage into 1–inch slices. Using a
corer/slicer, cut apple into 8 sections. In a nonstick skillet, bring sausage
and apples to a boil in apple juice. Cover and cook for 5
minutes. Uncover and cook 5 minutes
longer. Drain. In a measuring cup, whisk together jelly and
syrup. Over medium heat, pour over, stir to cover, and cook until sausage and apples
are glazed. Yield: 4 servings.
