Reindeer Cookies

Kids Cooking

Ho! Ho! Ho!   Santa will love a plate of Rudolph Reindeer cookies when he comes to visit your home.   Prepared refrigerated dough is shaped into a triangular log and cut into cookies.  After cooling, they are frosted and decorated with pretzels, chocolate chips, and a gum drop.  Clean up as you cook so you can have plenty of time to enjoy the holiday.

Recipe:

1     16.5-ounce roll peanut butter refrigerated cookie dough, softened

1/3   cup all-purpose flour

3/4   cup vanilla prepared frosting

48    small unsalted pretzel twists

1/4   cup milk chocolate chips (48)

12    small red gumdrops, cut in half

Preheat oven to 350-degrees.  In a mixing bowl, mix cookie dough with flour until well blended.  Roll dough into a triangular shaped log.  Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.  Cut dough into 24 slices and place 3-inches apart on a nonstick shiny cookie sheet.  Bake about 10 to 12 minutes until set.  Do not overbake.  Let cool for 2 minutes of cookie sheet.  Transfer to a rack to cool completely.
Frost cookies leaving a 1/8-inch unfrosted around the edge.  Press on two pretzels for antlers, two chocolate chips for eyes, and half a gum drop for nose.  Serve two on a plate for Santa.  Yield:   24 reindeer
