Rice Krispie Pumpkin

“Create an edible centerpiece for Halloween”

 

3   tablespoons butter

1   10-ounce package miniature marshmallows

6   cups Rice Krispie cereal

     Yellow and red paste food color

      Decorating gel

      Green gumdrops

 

Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat.  Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted.  Remove from heat.  Stir in a little yellow and red paste food coloring to make the marshmallow mixture orange.  Stir in Rice Krispies and mix.  Coat 2 identical round bowls with cooking spray.  Evenly divide mixture and then press bowls together.  Remove bowls when mixture is firm.  Score pumpkin by making indentions with a table knife.  Design a face with decorating gel. Roll out gumdrops into a rectangle.  Curl and form into a stem.  Secure with toothpicks.  Recipe can be doubled to make a larger pumpkin.
