Spinach Dip Bread Bowl

Kids Cooking

A bread bowl filled with a zippy dip is a delicious New Years appetizer. Choose an unsliced round loaf of Hawaiian, rye, whole wheat or your favorite bread.     The tasty dip is a combination of spinach, seasoning, sour cream, mayonnaise and cheese.  Extra dip can be served with cut up vegetables, whole grain crackers and/or Melba snack rounds.  Plain yogurt can be substituted for sour cream and Swiss cheese for Cheddar.  Do not fill the bread bowl until just before serving.

Preparation time:   About 20 minutes.

Equipment you’ll need:    Mixing bowl, utility spoon, rubber scraper, serrated knife,

solid (nested) measuring cups, colander, kitchen scissors and large serving platter.

Safety: Ask an adult to help prepare the bread bowl.  Cover and refrigerate dip after preparation and until served.
