Stuff an Egg

Preschoolers develop cognitive, motor and social skills through creative cooking experiences!

 

NUTRITION!

Protein (egg) builds and renews body tissues and supplies energy.

Saturated fat (egg) should be eaten in moderation. 

 

SUPPLIES!

Hard cooked egg

Light mayonnaise

Mustard

Paprika

 

MATERIALS!

2   small paper bowls

1   small paper plate

1   teaspoon measure

¼  teaspoon measure

1   plastic knife

1   plastic spoon

1   plastic fork

 

RECIPE!

1  hard cooked egg

1  teaspoon light mayonnaise

¼ teaspoon mustard

     Paprika

 

DIRECTIONS!

1.  Roll egg on table to crack shell.  Remove shell. 

2.  Cut egg in half and place yolk in one bowl and whites in another. 

3.  Measure mayonnaise and mustard.  Mix by stirring 8 times into the egg yolks   

4.  Spoon egg yolk filling evenly into egg white halves.

5.  Sprinkle lightly with paprika

6.  Eat and enjoy!

 

CAROLYN’S COOKING RULES!

Wash hands with soap and water before cooking. 

Wear an apron or smock to protect clothes. 

Listen carefully to directions. 

Use good table manners. 

Assist with clean up.

EXTENSIONS!

Provide salt and pepper seasoning, chopped olives, vinegar and minced onions for filling.

Provide bacon bits, sliced ripe or green olives and small springs of parsley as a garnish.
