Tuna Bites
Preschoolers develop cognitive, motor and social
skills through creative cooking experiences!
NUTRITION!
Protein (tuna fish)
builds and repairs body tissue and supplies energy.
Fiber (whole grain
bread) steadies the blood sugar level, slows fat absorption, reduces
cholesterol and promotes regularity.
SUPPLIES!
Water packed tuna
Mayonnaise
Stuffed green olive
MATERIALS!
1 tablespoon measure
1 teaspoon measure
1 plastic knife
1 plastic spoon
1 small paper bowl
1 “fish” cookie cutter
RECIPE – 1
SERVING!
1 slice whole grain bread
1 tablespoon tuna fish
1 teaspoon mayonnaise
1/2 stuffed green
olive
DIRECTIONS!
1. Cut our two fish shapes using a cooking
cutter
2. Measure tuna fish and mayonnaise into a
bowl.
3. Mix ingredients and spread on fish-shaped
piece of bread.
4. Top with other bread slice. Decorate with olive “eye.”
5. Eat and enjoy!
