Turkey Burgers

 

Sarah’s “Lite” Recipes

 

Meat mix 

1     pound ground turkey

2     cloves garlic, minced

1     teaspoon sugar

1     tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1/2  teaspoon fresh ground pepper

1     large egg

3/4  cup quick oats

 

Dressing

4   whole grain hamburger buns

4   slices tomato

4   slices sweet yellow onions

 

Sauce

1/2  cup tangy ketchup

1/2  cup light mayonnaise

      

In a small bowl, mix together ketchup and mayonnaise. In another bowl, stir together meat mix.  Divide seasoned turkey into 4 equal balls.  Flatten each ball into a thick patty.  Using a wooden spoon, press a large shallow dent into the center of each patty.  The indentation in the center helps the patty keep its shape.  Pan broil the patties in a non stick skillet.  Flip and cook an additional 5 to 6 minutes until well done. The meat should be well done and juices run clear. Place on buns and add tomatoes, onions, and sauce. 

Yield:  4 servings.
