Yuletide Twisters

Kids Cooking

A pretzel is a baked snack that is traditionally twisted into a unique knot.  For a holiday treat, dip in white chocolate and sprinkle with assorted decorations.  For Chocolate Twisters, substitute semisweet chocolate chips for baking squares.  Prepare a snack, but always leave the kitchen spotless!

Recipe:

1       6-ounce package premier white baking squares

1       tablespoon milk

1       tablespoon light corn syrup

8       ounces classic style pretzel twists

Colored sugar crystals, sprinkles, non-pariels, etc.

Line a baking sheet with waxed paper.  Set aside.  Melt baking squares in a saucepan over very low heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon.  Slowly stir in milk and corn syrup.  Do not remove saucepan from heat.  Holding pretzel with a fork, dip 1 side of each pretzel into melted mixture to coat.  Place coated side up on prepared baking sheet.  Immediately sprinkle with desired decorations.  Refrigerate about 15 to 20 minutes.
